For those of you who pre-ordered your Pineapple LP, the latest from The N.E.C., keep an eye on that mailbox. Your copy should be arriving any day now. For those of you who didn’t, fear not! You can get it in stores today! Pick up a copy at Criminal, Wax N’ Facts, or Decatur CD if you are in Atlanta. You can also get copies online or at a show. The boys are out on tour now and if you haven’t experienced them live, well, that you haven’t really experienced them at their finest. We’ll be releasing a digital version soon that will have a bonus track and a digital booklet that you can only get on Itunes.. More details to come. And don’t forget, that yellow vinyl, its limited edition. Just sayin’…

The N.E.C. hits Pitchfork via Altered Zones and more

A stream of the first single from The N.E.C.’s latest creation, Pineapple, has been popping up on blogs this past week. We are super thankful that everyone is taking a listen. From Sounds Better With Reverb to Altered Zones (part of the Pitchfork family) to The Decibel Tolls, the single is making its rounds. The album is out on November 8th.

Mermaids are back at the Little 5 Points Halloween Parade!!!

Last year was such a blast, Mermaids are back again! If you’ve never been to this parade, you are missing out. It is the highlight of the Halloween season. Come dressed up or don’t, whatever, but don’t miss it. Mermaids will be playing the Star Bar float again and maybe the Lego people will be back. There will be plenty of chainsaws, blood, ghouls, and such to run from and candy to catch. Yay! Here’s a video from last year. It’ll get you in the Halloween spirit!

Chad Radford posted this lovely review of Lucy Dreams album, Vivian a couple weeks ago on Crib Notes and it later ran in the print version. If you haven’t read the review, check it out here. Radford praised the band by saying “the group shows off such evocative songwriting, imagination and epic potential with its first offering.” Don’t forget to pick up a copy of the album! I mean, 4 out of 5 stars ain’t too shabby folks.

Mermaids and Lucy Dreams @ Little 5 Fest on Saturday!!!

If you haven’t already heard, Mermaids are playing their first show in many, many months. There really isn’t a more perfect place to do that than at Star Bar during the epic Little 5 Fest. 30 bands, a bunch of venues, and its only $10! Lucy Dreams is in the mix as well playing at Aurora which is the festival’s only all ages venue. So come out and see all the bands you love and maybe some haven’t fallen for yet. You can get the entire line up here and trust us, its worth way more than $10! And if you don’t believe us, check out the dudes from Airplane. They’re so into it too.
